Being a strong athlete goes beyond competition. It starts with building healthy habits. This training emphasized the importance of fitness as a foundation for success, helping athletes understand how daily choices can improve performance, reduce the risk of injury, and support overall wellbeing.
Now equipped with new knowledge and leadership skills, these Fitness Captains will return to their teams ready to make a difference. They will work alongside coaches to lead warm ups, guide stretching routines, and encourage teammates to prioritize fitness both on and off the field.
More than just assisting at practice, Fitness Captains serve as role models. They help create a team culture where health, movement, and positive habits are part of the everyday experience. Their leadership ensures that fitness is not just something athletes do. It becomes part of who they are.
This initiative highlights the power of athlete leadership and the importance of investing in the whole athlete. With 28 newly trained Fitness Captains, the future of local programs is stronger, healthier, and more empowered than ever.
