Area Winter Games
Area Winter Games are held annually by Area Management Teams across the state. Special Olympics Montana winter sports include Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowboarding, and Snowshoeing.
These games take a committed volunteer planning committee to plan the games as well as day-of volunteer help. Below is a list of the Area WinterGames, dates, and volunteer openings will be posted as information becomes available.

We are pleased to announce – the 17th Annual Big Sky Area Winter Games Competition will take place on March 2nd, 2026. Big Sky Resort has graciously hosted the competition every year and we thank them for welcoming these amazing athletes back to their spectacular Madison Base Area. The competition includes athletes from Special Olympics Montana’s Big Sky Area as well as several other regions around the state. Please plan to come to Big Sky Resort to cheer on these amazing athletes and we will see you on the slopes.
